1. Open Deck Options

In Memo, navigate to the deck you want to export (e.g., Urinary System | Anatomy).
Click the ••• menu in the top-right corner of the deck view.
Hover over Export Flashcards.
Select .apkg to download an Anki package that you can import directly.
2. Import into Anki
Launch Anki on your computer.
Go to File → Import in the menu bar (or press Ctrl + I / Cmd + I).
Select the downloaded
.apkg
file and click Open.Choose the destination deck in Anki (or create a new one) and click Import.
Tip: Make sure you’re running the latest version of Anki to avoid compatibility issues when importing packages.
3. What’s Included by Default
When you export a deck from Memo, each flashcard in the .apkg
package includes:
Deck name in the card template header
Page number in the front template (e.g.,
p.2
)Automatic tags for deck and page (e.g.,
cardiology::page03
)Image reference: a screenshot of the source page to help with context and memorization
These features help you trace every card back to its original source material and reinforce contextual learning.
4. Customizing Flashcard Output

You can turn off or adjust any of these default settings in Memo’s configuration:
Go to Settings in the left sidebar.
Click Configuration → Flashcard Display.
Toggle the options you wish to disable or change:
Display Deck Name in Card Template
Display Deck Page Number in Review
Create Tags for Page Numbers in Anki Cards
Add Image Reference to Anki Cards
Click Save to apply your changes.
5. Troubleshooting
Import errors: Ensure your Anki is up-to-date (Anki 2.1.50 or later recommended).
Missing images: If cards import without images, verify that Add Image Reference is enabled in your Memo settings and re-export.
Incorrect tags: Double-check the Create Tags for Page Numbers setting in Memo and re-import after exporting.
