Skills are reusable instructions that shape how Memo generates outputs. They can affect structure, tone, formatting, difficulty, or the type of result you get.
Where to find skills
Open Skills from the Memo sidebar to browse the Skills Marketplace and your owned skills. You can search for a skill, open details, or create a new skill.
Create a custom skill
Open Skills.
Click Create Skill.
Add a clear name and description.
Write instructions that describe the output style you want.
Choose the compatible surfaces where the skill should appear.
Save the skill.
Use a skill in Studio
Open a deck.

Open the customize dialog for a Studio output.
Choose a compatible skill from the skill selector.
Add any extra run-specific instructions.
Generate the output.
Tips for writing good skills
Be specific about the result format.
Include examples when a format matters.
Keep the skill reusable; put one-off requests in custom instructions instead.
Create separate skills for different surfaces if the behavior should differ.
FAQ
Why does my skill not appear in every dialog?
Skills are compatible with specific surfaces. A tutor skill, flashcard skill, and podcast skill are not always interchangeable.
Can I combine a skill with custom instructions?
Yes. The skill sets the reusable behavior, and custom instructions can add details for one run.
