Energy is the usage system Memo uses to track AI-powered actions across Studio and Copilot.

What energy does

Instead of giving every feature its own separate quota, Memo uses one shared energy balance for supported AI actions.

That means your plan gives you a monthly amount of energy, and supported actions draw from that balance as you use them.

Actions that can consume energy

Memo currently tracks energy for actions such as:

  • flashcard generation

  • chat / Copilot

  • notes generation

  • practice tests

  • podcast generation

  • tracks

  • mindmaps

  • infographics

  • voice tutor

  • source ingestion

Different actions can cost different amounts, and some Copilot models can cost different amounts from others.

Where to see your balance

Open:

Settings β†’ Usage

There you can see:

  • your limit

  • remaining energy

  • usage progress

  • reset timing

  • the pricing guide for supported actions and models

Reset timing

Memo’s current energy system resets on a monthly cadence.

Free and paid plans both use monthly resets in the current setup.

Important notes

  • Energy is shared across supported actions.

  • Changing to a different Copilot model can affect the cost of a run.

  • If you hit your limit, you may need to wait for the reset or upgrade your plan.

FAQ

Does every action cost the same amount of energy?

No. Different actions can cost different amounts, and some chat models can have their own pricing.

Does Free use the same system as paid plans?

Yes. Free also uses the energy system, just with a smaller monthly limit.

Where can I see which models are available on my plan?

Check your current plan in Settings β†’ Subscription and your usage details in Settings β†’ Usage.
