Smart Grading helps check your typed or spoken answer during Learn Mode. It is useful when you want more feedback than a simple self-grade.

When to use Smart Grading

  • You want Memo to compare your answer with the expected answer.

  • You are practicing longer explanations.

  • You want feedback before deciding whether you remembered the card.

Turn Smart Grading on or off

  1. Open a flashcard set.

  2. Start Learn.

  3. Use the Smart Grading control in the review interface.

How it changes review

When Smart Grading is on, Memo can evaluate your response and help decide whether it is close enough. When it is off, you can review in a more traditional self-grading flow.

Tips

  • Answer in your own words before checking feedback.

  • For definitions, include the key terms or concepts.

  • For reasoning questions, explain your steps rather than only giving the final answer.

Important notes

  • Smart Grading is meant to support your judgment, not replace it entirely.

  • Some review flows may use energy because they involve AI evaluation.

  • Your Smart Grading preference can be remembered on the device you use.
